Location :: Codnor,  Click here for a GOOGLE map

Details :: Becky's Cafe is situated in a set back lay-by just at the top of the hill coming out of Codnor. It is accessible from both directions, but there is no right turn out of the lay-by to go back to Codnor or Ripley for Lorries, so be warned! The special is "The Big One", and for £4.00 you get 3 bacon, 3 sausage, 2 eggs, beans, tomms fried slice, 4 bread and a tea/ coffee. The place can seat up to 8, and has radio and newspapers. It is immaculate, and Becky and her little helper Mel, are friendly and welcoming, and they are open from 7.30am - 3pm, Mon - Fri. I had a full English, and for £3, it was outstanding. Phone 07799 766738 to pre-order your food! Someone will rate this highly!

Details :: Steve is open Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 13:00pm, and offers the usual roadside cafe menu.   I had a very tasty Big Breakfast (2 eggs, 2 massive sausages, beans, tomms, 2 bacon, 2 black pudding, large bread cob and coffee) for £4.50, and didn't have any room for the free refill on the coffee! He can seat around 12 people comfortably, has newspapers and his own on site toilet. It is located in the fairly large first lay-by as soon as you turn onto the A617 Chesterfield Bypass. Give it a go!

Details :: Was known as Mal's Place, is now run by Tracey, and it can't be missed, as it is in the first lay-by as soon as you turn onto the Mansfield road from Heath roundabout off the M1. It is a stationary caravan, with seating, and they offer a variety of food, especially the "Monster Breakfast" Which consists of a jumbo sausage, 2 bacon, 3 eggs, 1/4 pound burger, fried slice or toast, beans, tomms, black pudding, bread or monster cob and tea or coffee, all for just £4.20. Try one if you dare! They open around 06:15am ish, and close around 2pm ish Mon - Fri. They will open at a weekend but with prior arrangement only. Another one visited by me, so it is down to someone else to rate it, but I sat down inside, had a big bacon butty, coffee, and a read of the newspaper for only £3, and it did for me! This has been taken over by Tracey who is the wife of Steve, who owns the cafe on the other side of the roundabout.
